Sigma Alpha

National Honor Society for Women in Agriculture

Mission: Sigma Alpha is the national professional and social sorority for women in agriculture. The purpose of Sigma Alpha is to promote women in all facets of agriculture and to build friendships among them. Members are encouraged to strive for achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service. 
Membership eligibility: Membership is open to all women at the university with a 2.25 GPA, with an emphasis on those majoring in agriculture and related fields. 

Chapter History: The University of Connecticut became a member of the national chapter of Sigma Alpha in April 1990. Sigma Alpha is a service sorority participating in several community projects
throughout the year to benefit the community.
