Mission: The objective of this organization shall be to foster the high ideals of the engineering profession, to stimulate interest in coordinating departmental activities, to promote the mutual professional welfare of its members, and to develop in students of mechanical engineering the attributes necessary for effective leadership and the assumption of the responsibilities of a citizen in a democracy.

Chapter History: In 1948, a faculty committee under the guidance of Professor Charles H. Coogan, Jr., head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, was set up to draft a petition to establish a chapter. On May 21, 1949, the Connecticut Pi Psi Chapter was formally installed.
