Mission: Pi Mu Epsilon is the national honor society that honors high scholastic achievement in mathematics. 

Chapter History: The University of Connecticut is the Alpha Chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon and became part of the national chapter on May 18, 1963. 

Membership eligibility: Students who have completed 5 or 6 semesters must have an overall GPA of 3.2 or better, and students who have completed 7 or 8 semesters must have an overall GPA of 3.0. In addition, students must have a minimum mathematics GPA (in 200 level courses) of 3.4 for 5th or 6th semester students, 3.2 for 7th or 8th. Students must also have passed at least four of the following courses: Math 211 or Math 221, 213 or 214, 215 or 227, 216 and 273.

There are additional requirements for Math-Statistics, Math Actuarial Science and Applied Mathematical Science majors. Please contact the Math Department for details.
