Mission: The purpose of Pi Alpha Alpha shall be to encourage and recognize outstanding scholarship and accomplishment in public affairs and administration, to promote the advancement of education and practice in the art and science of public affairs and administration, and to foster integrity, professionalism and creative performance in the conduct of governmental and related public service activities. 

Chapter History: Pi Alpha Alpha was established at the University of Connecticut in 1987. 

Membership eligibility: Membership will be limited to graduate students, alumni, faculty and honorary members who demonstrate academic excellence in public affairs and administration. Undergraduate students with an interest in public affairs administration should explore Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society.

Graduate students may be inducted if they: 
Have maintained an average of at least a 3.7 and have completed at least half of their required course work.  Rank in the upper 20 percent of their class.
