Mission: Dedicated to the purpose of maintaining and promoting the status of civil engineering as an ideal profession, Chi Epsilon was organized to recognize the characteristics of the individual civil engineer deemed to be fundamental to the successful pursuit of an engineering career, and to aid in the development of those characteristics
in the civil engineering student. 

 

Membership eligibility: Students must rank in the upper one-third of his or her civil engineering class and be enrolled in civil engineering or a closely related curriculum that is approved by the Supreme Council. Members shall be chosen from among students who have completed at least one-half of the work required for their Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent. 

Chapter History: The University of Connecticut was enrolled as a collegiate chapter of Chi Epsilon in 1949.
