| School of Business Business Honor Society Link to National Beta Gamma Sigma Mission: The purpose of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement and personal excellence in the study and practice of business. This is done by: Encouraging and honoring high achievement by students of business and management through chapters; Fostering in BGS members an enduring commitment to the principles and values of the Society: Honor and integrity, pursuit of wisdom, and earnestness; Supporting the advancement of business thought at both the national and chapter levels, so as to encourage life-long learning. |
Membership eligibility: Undergraduate students must be enrolled in the School of Business. Juniors will be invited to apply if they are in the highest seven percent of their class and seniors if their scholarship is sufficiently high to reasonably forecast their ranking in the upper tenth at graduation. Master's students must rank in the upper twentieth of their class. An unrestricted number of doctoral students may be inducted if they have completed all requirements for their degree. Administrators, faculty, and research staff may be inducted if they have completed six years of work at the school. Chapter History: Beta Gamma Sigma was established at the University of Connecticut in 1959. |
